Denarius Metals is a Canadian junior mining company engaged in the acquisition, expiration, development, and eventual operation of polymetallic mining projects in high-grade districts. It currently has high-grade projects located in Spain and Colombia, which give it exposure to a broad range of sought-after metals in the global economy, including copper, nickel, zinc, lead, gold, silver, cobalt, palladium, and platinum. The company has two projects coming into production within the next 12 months.
Melissa Mackie serves as the Investor Relations Manager at Denarius Metals and works collaboratively on the company’s IR program alongside the CFO and an Investor Relations Associate focused on social media and communications. The team is highly collaborative, also working closely with Denarius' Chairman and CEO. Before Denarius Metals, Melissa worked in investor relations for other materials and energy companies such as GCM Mining, Caldas Gold Corp, and Frontera Energy Corp.
The Denarius IR team was looking for a solution to help them reach out and target new investors. They wanted a solution that would allow them to target different groups of investors, give them access to investor contact information and history, and provide a robust CRM to track their meetings and stay organized.
Melissa explains their decision:
"We were looking to reach out and target new people. We saw that Irwin was a platform allowing us to target different groups and provide their contact information. We could take it from there and have the initiative to reach out to people on our own."
Denarius uses Irwin as a comprehensive IR platform, leveraging several key features:
"We use Irwin daily for the CRM; it's a way of keeping organized and tracking meetings and making sure that when we walk into a meeting, we're well prepared with all the information that we need with the notes from our last meeting and everything that's going on with that particular investor."
Actively getting the word out about their company is a priority for the team at Denarius Metals, and having the ability to target specific investors in the junior mining space is a critical focus of their efforts:

"We publish a monthly newsletter that we send out to our subscribers, and our rep at Irwin has been fantastic about creating and changing targeting lists that allow us to get the newsletter into the right inboxes."

"The support has been fantastic. Our Irwin Account Manager is extremely responsive. Super helpful with any requests we've had, which is hard to come by these days, sadly. We have switched a few service providers over the last couple of years because we weren't happy with the level of service we were getting at different places. So I can say the service has been amazing."
Denarius recently added Irwin's website analytics tool, Irwin IQ, to their IR tech stack. Melissa highlights how it's providing valuable insights:
"We find it insightful to see who is visiting our website and what content they’re looking at. It allows us to better understand who is visiting our site and what they’re looking for and improve areas based on the information we receive. The weekly reports of visitors is also very helpful as it gives us an opportunity to follow-up with visitors and potential new leads.”
"Having that tool and that ability to see where people are going and what they're looking for has been extremely valuable for us."
Melissa offers the following advice to IR professionals evaluating Irwin:
"I would say, well, service number one is amazing. Irwin is also an extremely powerful tool. It is like a one-stop shop to really see who you can go out there and target. Is it a good fit? What's going on with your current investor base? And then being able to relay that information to your C-Suite in a relatively easy fashion. I know a lot of people spend a ton of time trying to accumulate this information from different sources, and to have all that in one place is extremely valuable for an IRO and somebody in this industry."
